If you are a young adult, or young at heart, try playing a video game as a way to unwind. Concentrating on something you enjoy helps clear your mind. Playing alone can help, or playing with a friend can be even more fun. Aromatherapy, or filling your living space with pleasant scents, can help relieve stress on a daily basis. Your olfactory senses are considered to be quite powerful. Try rubbing your neck with lavender or chamomile oil when you feel stressed. Scented candles are a great way to get those wonderful fragrances.

Stop clenching your teeth and relax your jaw. Your jaw absorbs much of your stress, leading to the sensation of a clenched jaw. If you’re feeling stressed, press your jaw with the index finger, take a deep breath in, clench, release your breath and your jaw. This will help you to relieve the stress stored in your jaw. Do not constantly talk about “stress.” When you constantly tell yourself that you are something, before long it becomes true and this covers stress as well. Using the word, either out loud or in your head, will just make you more stressed, so find a substitute and use it instead.
