When we got here it did not really seem as though we were going to get out on the boat to do any scuba diving. The weather was pretty rough and the forecase was pretty bad as well. It was a bit ridiculous to have a week and a half at a Paros Bed and Breakfast, but get there at the one moment when it was not warm and sunny with tranquil waters around the island. It was really bad here yesterday and the day before that, again this morning it looked as though it would not be any better, but after a bit the sky lightened up and the seas got a lot calmer. In fact by lunch it was beautiful. The captain and I looked at his radar and of course I was willing to take a chance on going out before it cleared out, but only because I could see that the weather was moving East towards Turkey pretty rapidly.
I knew that there was a shipwreck here, but I was hoping it would be a bit more impressive. The one we went to today was sort of sheltered from the heavier seas out in the open waters, but it was not what you might have dreamt of normally. The boat was pretty much gone to the point where it took a bit of imagination to realize what it must have looked like when it was on top of the water. Of course there were a lot of fish and sea life to look at and I sort of lucked into catching a cuttlefish. I was right on top of it and did not know it, but Anne pointed at it. I picked it up without realizing what it was, it was pretending to be a rock I guess.
